Please cast your vote for Albemarle School in the Norfolk Tides Fall Makeover Contest to help us to receive a field makeover! This field makeover will include an upgrade to the playing surface and improvement to existing dugouts.

We have already been working on renovating our fields to ready them for this spring season, winning this contest would go a long way to helping our goals in this effort. This would allow us to play home games at our school and would benefit the entire population of our school for years to come!

1 Wi-Fi and Network Upgrade – To resolve internet connectivity issues, new switches and wiring were installed to allow school-wide internet connectivity.
2 New Intercom System – Teachers have call buttons installed in the classrooms for immediate office assistance; and individual classrooms can be called using the new intercom system.
3 New Chromebooks – Middle school students will now have access to Chromebooks in their classrooms.
4 FACTS SIS – The student management system we were using is no longer operational, so we have purchased a newer, better Student Information System!
5 Ground Work – New drain lines have been installed, and work on the baseball and softball fields has been initiated.
6 Cameras – Additional cameras have been installed for additional security/surveillance of the school buildings and grounds.
7 Adidas Uniform Contract – Albemarle School entered into a contract with Adidas for uniform and equipment purchases.
8 Educational equipment – Updated educational materials and equipment will be available to teachers and students this school year.
We look forward to meeting you and your family at Open House on Wednesday, August 7th at 6:00. Very important information will be provided, and both parents and students will have the opportunity to discover various things our school has to offer. Staff members will be assigned to different stations to provide specific information. Light refreshments will be served in the cafeteria.
Elementary
K-5 Students should enter through the front door of the main building. Staff will be available in the hall adjacent to the front office to assist you. All teachers will be available in their respective classrooms.
6-12 Students can meet with their teachers in their homeroom classrooms. Information stations will be available in the courtyard (weather permitting) or in the gym (in case of inclement weather). Students will receive their schedules which will include their locker assignment and school email address. Students will also be able to sign up for various sports teams.

We are looking forward to seeing the students when they return
in just a few weeks. School supply lists are located on our
website listed under the Student Services menu.
A master shopping list is available for all grades; however, this
list does not include specific requests from each teacher. For
individual classroom supply lists, select the appropriate grade
level from the menu.

Our Varsity Baseball team are the State Runner-Ups for the NCISAA 1A Tournament. Kerr-Vance Academy defeated our team in the final championship game. We are so proud of our boys for their accomplishments this season. Check out this article for more information.

Congratulations to the Class of 2019 student, Parker Berry! Parker Berry has been accepted into the apprenticeship program as a pipe fitter at Norfolk Naval Shipyard after graduation. Students in the apprenticeship program participate in a rigorous training program, which combines TCC's academic classes with NNSY’s trade theory training and on-the-job learning experience.
Congratulations to the Class of 2019 student, Josh Hooper! Josh has been accepted to ODU, Barton College, Chowan University, and UNC Pembroke! He has been awarded Chowan University's Presidential Scholarship of $27,200 and the Dean's Fellowship Award of $1,000 annually. Barton College has also offered him $44,000! Way to go, Josh! Your Colt family is so very proud of you!
