Grades 1st - 5th

Albemarle School's Lower School provides wonderful, enriching learning opportunities for students in grades 1-5. Our rigorous Engage New York curriculum is used as a tool to help teachers create engaging lessons that teach reading, writing & mathematics. Through the literature-based curriculum, students are taught to read and write through exposure to interesting scientific and historical facts.  Mathematics provides hands-on learning experiences with manipulatives and creative thinking skills. Science and Social Studies are enhanced with experiments and projects that require critical thinking.

Lower School students are also exposed to Art, Computers (basic coding), Physical Education, Library Skills, Music, and Spanish to further enhance their classroom learning. Our teachers are committed to providing students a well-rounded educational experience in a supportive, nurturing environment.
