 "How Can I Help?"

Joy Banks is a native of Currituck County. Her Husband and his brothers graduated from Albemarle Academy. Her daughters attended and have since graduated from Albemarle. Joy began working at Albemarle in 1995 as a Parent Volunteer and a member of the P.T.0. Joy was hired to be the Custodian in July of 1997. Since then she has held many positions in many different capacities. Joy began working as the Assistant Librarian in 2003, becoming the Head Librarian in 2004 when Ms. Lynn Taylor retired. Joy Banks is lovingly referred to as the "Albemarle Historian" as she can quickly spout off all sorts of facts and details regarding the school's history. She most enjoys reading in her spare time and especially likes to pass on that enjoyment with all the students.
